Jordan to quit Twitter over abuse
Katie Price is poised to be the next celebrity to quit Twitter after saying she’s growing tired of abusive messages on the site.
The glamour girl, 31, also known as Jordan, has been left upset by the flood of “mindless” and “relentless” comments since her split from Peter Andre.
A source close to the model said: “Kate is a tough cookie and she’s grown used to what she calls ‘the haters’ who are constantly taking pops at her.
“But the level of abuse on Twitter can be intolerable. She really is in two minds about staying on the site.
“She gets lots of really lovely messages from her true fans who look up to her and they are an absolute pleasure.
“But in the same breath, there are the mindless idiots who bombard her with crude, abusive comments – which are there for all the public to see. She tries to ignore it but it’s hard not to be upset. She is considering all her options.” The Mirror saw a number of abusive messages directed at Katie over the past 24 hours.
The source added: “It’s sad but that’s what happens when you’re in the public eye. Kate is trying to rise above it.”
Katie was already feeling “low” after the housemates of her cage-fighter boyfriend Alex Reid turned against her on Celebrity Big Brother.
She has told friends the criticism in the Channel 4 show is proving “hard to take”.
Heidi Fleiss was the chief culprit in the house as she interrogated Alex, 35, about their relationship.

Singers Courtney Love, Miley Cyrus and Lily Allen have all stopped Tweeting.
Even Stephen Fry, with 1.2million followers, has taken a break. His final Tweet said: “I must deliver a book by the end of April or my soul and testicles will be forfeit.”
