George Michael booked to perform in Melbourne on Wednesday March 3 2010
GEORGE Michael's Melbourne fans will have their faith rewarded.
The UK superstar will now play Etihad Stadium on Wednesday March 3.
The mid-week show means Michael's massive stage can be installed and removed around NAB cup matches at the venue on February 28 and March 5.

The announcement will placate angry fans disappointed the Australian tour - Michael's first since 1988 - was bypassing Melbourne and were protesting on sites such as Facebook.
Promoter Paul Dainty said the window at the venue was only confirmed after the tour was announced.
"It's worked out, but the wrong way around,'' Dainty said. "George obviously wanted to play Melbourne, but we didn't have a venue. Luckily we do now.''Tickets for the Melbourne show, expected to be around 40,000 capacity, will go on sale December 15 from Ticketmaster.
His Australian tour will now end in Melbourne after shows in Sydney and Perth.
The concerts will be the first Michael has played anywhere in the world since December 2008, and he has no further dates planned.
"These are exclusive one-off shows for Australia rather than a tour,'' Dainty said.
"I've been trying to get him to come to Australia when this tour started in 2006 but the timing was never right.
"But he's not a touring act like the Rolling Stones, he like the ideas of these one-off performances.''
The size of Michael's state-of-the-art stage and screens meant the show could not fit inside Rod Laver Arena.
A January tour was scrapped after Michael felt he would not have enough time to rehearse his band.
"He's a perfectionist,'' Dainty said.
"He'll be tweaking the show a little bit from what he did overseas, hopefully with some new songs and video footage.''
