A call to the Oak Street Bridge in Roseburg Tuesday night led to the arrest of a Roseburg man being held now at about $ 1 million bail.
Roseburg police say three men contacted the bridge, and found one had a warrant for his arrest.
Police say they tried to stop Donny Lynn Morgan, 20, but the man who fought with the officers and broke free.
Morgan crossed the bridge, but was stopped on the other side.
During the incident, Morgan had put his coat on the river while fleeing officers. An officer had to enter the river and retrieve his coat.
Morgan was presented at the Douglas County Jail on charges of Escape II, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest, interfering with police, carrying a concealed weapon, illegal possession of marijuana.Morgan is being held in $ 985,000 bail.
