No paparazzi wedding crashers for Vaughn
It's not easy for A-list stars to keep their love lives out of the tabloids. But Vince Vaughn, who appeared on numerous tabloid covers with ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston, successfully managed to keep his relationship with Kyla Weber, whom he married Saturday, out of the spotlight.
How?
For one, Weber, 31, isn't an actress, pop singer or famous model; she's a commercial real estate agent. According to the Calgary Herald, she grew up on a farm in Blackie, Alberta, Canada, which has a population of about 400, and has two younger brothers who work outside Calgary.
"Vaughn falls for Canadian real estate agent" probably wouldn't sell tabloids.
Second, the 39-year-old Lake Forest native was likely burned out by all the attention given to his relationship with Aniston, so he kept things with Weber as low key as possible. He didn't open up publicly about the relationship until October, when he was promoting "Couples Retreat."
"Because she lived far away, at first I was nervous to date her because it's one of my best friends' wife's best friend from childhood. ... If it goes wrong, you're talking about awkward," Vaughn said during an appearance on "Live with Regis and Kelly." "We started with e-mails and calling each other, so that was nice. We became friends.
"She's a civilian, which is good. ... She was a real estate agent up in Canada."
While on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in October, Vaughn said they had been dating for a year and a half, and that he proposed on Valentine's Day because "I figured this is not a ship to be missed because I will not forget this date."
The couple has been spotted at Blackhawks games at the United Center, and they recently attended a birthday celebration for Hawks star Patrick Kane at Harry Caray's.
